The Confident Communicator
My coaching brand, newsletter, and community for professionals who want to communicate with confidence, presence, and authority. Every engagement follows the R.I.S.E. Reset Method: Recognize, Identity, Speak, Expand.
I am a confidence and executive presence coach, keynote speaker, and corporate trainer. I learned what I teach the hard way, inside the executive office, and I teach it so you do not have to learn it alone.

I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and I started my career in city government, where everything was structured, strict, and black and white. The rules were the rules. There was a process for everything.
When I stepped into corporate America, I walked into gray areas. Influence mattered. Presence mattered. Confidence mattered. I could see people shaping their careers with boldness, visibility, and voice, and I was not prepared for that.
So I sat in the back. I stayed quiet. I did not ask questions, and I did not offer a thought, even when I had one. You could be in the same room with me and barely know I was there.
My silence became a pattern, and my hesitation became something I had to confront. Over time, I did.
I learned that confidence is built. It is practiced. It grows every time you choose to trust your voice, own your value, and show up with intention. That is the heart of everything I teach.

My career has been spent inside the executive office at EY, Optiv, Bank of America, Willis Towers Watson, and Ribbon Communications, supporting CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and SVPs. I watched what leaders actually notice: how you frame a recommendation, how you hold steady under pressure, and how you make your contribution visible without overexplaining it.
One lesson shaped my work more than any other: a layoff is a business decision, not a verdict on your value. That lesson became The Repositioning.

My framework for the seven pillars executives weigh when they decide who they trust: Trust, Judgment, Communication, Business Acumen, Influence, Leadership, and Gravitas. It shapes my training, my assessment, and my talks.
With Kathy A. Adams, I co-founded the Black Executive Admin Network to support Black Executive Assistants and administrative professionals through mentoring, community, leadership development, and advocacy. We publish the State of the Black Executive Admin Profession report.
“Confidence comes from knowing, not from showing.”
“You are not starting over. You are repositioning.”
“I will not shrink in rooms I was called to lead in.”
Not by changing who you are. By changing how you show up, how you communicate, and how you position the value you already carry.
